Royal Challengers Bengaluru continued their perfect start to WPL 2026 with a commanding 32-run win over Gujarat Giants to complete a hat-trick of victories. The win was powered by a dominant all-round display from Richa Ghosh and Radha Yadav, along with a sensational five-wicket haul from Shreyanka Patil. RCB’s bowlers struck early to dismantle the Giants’ explosive top order, ensuring the visitors never recovered from the early blows as the table-toppers made it three wins from three.
Shreyanka Patil rounded off her phenomenal fifer spell by dismissing Tanuja Kanwer and Renuka Singh Thakur in the final moments. She wheeled away in celebration as Royal Challengers Bengaluru sealed a convincing 32-run victory.

Patil removed Kashvee Gautam, who was safely caught by Grace Harris to break the 56-run stand. Kashvee Gautam’s fighting knock of 18 off 14 came to an end with Gujarat Giants at 126/6, still needing 57 off 28 balls.
Lauren Bell followed up with another crucial breakthrough in the 17th over, dismissing the in-form Bharti Fulmali. Fulmali, who had been striking the ball cleanly, was again caught by Harris, bringing her valiant 39 off 20 to a close. The Giants slipped to 139/7, requiring 44 from 21 deliveries.
Debutant Shivani Singh departed for a two-ball duck, caught by Arundhati Reddy, as Rajeshwari Gayakwad walked in at No. 10. Arundhati returned in the 18th over but conceded two boundaries to Tanuja Kanwer.
15 Over Update: 122/5 Big wickets, costly drops shape middle overs
Gujarat Giants reached the halfway mark at 68/4. Nadine de Klerk then delivered a massive breakthrough, dismissing Georgia Wareham, who was caught by a brilliant Radha Yadav. Radha has been outstanding tonight, with bat, ball, and in the field, as she sprinted to her left from deep mid-wicket and judged the catch perfectly while on the move.
Kashvee Gautam walked in at No. 7 to replace Wareham. Radha Yadav followed up with a controlled 12th over, conceding just four runs. In the 13th, Arundhati Reddy was taken on by Bharti Fulmali, who struck two boundaries. Fulmali survived a chance soon after when Smriti Mandhana put down a catch off a length delivery around the fourth stump.
The 14th over proved costly as Linsey Smith leaked 19 runs. Kashvee Gautam also rode her luck, with another chance going down off Nadine de Klerk’s bowling, this time by Arundhati Reddy, allowing the Giants to push ahead.
10-over update: Bell dismisses Gardner; Patil’s double blow dents Giants
Ashleigh Gardner came in at No. 4 after Beth Mooney’s dismissal, with Gujarat Giants at 44/2 after six overs, slightly ahead of RCB’s 45/4 at the same stage. However, the momentum didn’t last long, as Lauren Bell struck soon after, removing Gardner for 3 off 6 balls.
Georgia Wareham followed at No. 5, while Kanika Ahuja tried to counter-attack in the eighth over, taking two boundaries off Nadine de Klerk. Shreyanka Patil returned in the ninth and conceded a boundary to Wareham, but the over also saw a strategic timeout after Arundhati Reddy injured herself while chasing a ball near the boundary. Reddy was taken off the field but appeared in good spirits.
Immediately after the break, Shreyanka delivered another blow, trapping Kanika Ahuja LBW. UltraEdge showed no spike, and ball-tracking confirmed the decision, sending Ahuja back for 16 off 14. From 34/0, the Giants had slipped to 63/4, firmly on the back foot.
Bharti Fulmali walked in at No. 6 as Radha Yadav bowled a quiet tenth over, conceding just five runs to cap a strong phase for the bowling side.
5-over update: Reddy and Patil strike as Giants lose key wickets inside five
Lauren Bell opened the bowling, delivering the first over to Beth Mooney. In the second over, Linsey Smith came on to bowl to Sophie Devine, but it proved to be an expensive start as 10 runs came off the over. The Giants made a strong push in the third over, bowled by Bell, taking the score to 32 without loss.
Arundhati Reddy then provided the breakthrough with a moment of brilliance, catching and bowling Sophie Devine in a stunning effort. Reddy reacted sharply to dismiss Devine for 8 off 12 balls. Kanika Ahuja was introduced into the attack following Devine’s wicket.
In the fifth over, Shreyanka Patil struck again, trapping Beth Mooney LBW. After a confident review taken by Patil, the decision was upheld, and Mooney was forced to walk back after scoring a quick 27 off 14 balls for the Giants.

Beth Mooney and Sophie Devine take to the ground for the opening of the inning for the Gujarat Giants. Lauren Bell starts the attack for the RCB.
RCB posts 182/7
After a steady inning by Richa and Radha, the RCB were able to post a competitive score of 182/7. Sophie Devine dismissed Nadine de Klerk and later Radha Yadav in the 19th over. Yadav put up 66 off 47 balls and brought the momentum-heavy innings to an end.
Shreyanka Patil and Arundhati Reddy tried to add some late runs, with a single and a bye helping push the total. Despite early setbacks and a top-order collapse, RCB’s middle-order firepower, led by Radha and earlier contributions from Richa Ghosh, who was dismissed in the 17th over, ensured a competitive total to challenge Gujarat Giants.
15 Over Update: 131/4
RCB fought back with Radha Yadav and Richa Ghosh anchoring the innings. After Renuka, Wareham and Devine applied steady pressure from the other end. The partnership between Radha and Richa began to flourish, with Radha reaching her maiden fifty in style, pulling a full-length delivery from Devine over deep backward square for a six.
Richa Ghosh, too, found her rhythm, hitting a massive six and a couple of boundaries to keep the scoreboard ticking. Despite losing wickets earlier, this 50-run stand has revived RCB’s innings, taking the total to 131/4 at the halfway mark of their innings. The momentum is shifting, and with 10 overs to go, RCB have a solid platform to accelerate towards a competitive total.
10 Over Update: 80/4 Gautami Naik dismissed by Sophie Devine
Royal Challengers Bengaluru find themselves in early trouble following a dramatic powerplay that saw the top order crumble under tight bowling from the Giants. Sophie Devine has struck key blows, claiming an LBW and keeping the pressure consistent, while Radha Yadav and Richa Ghosh have started to rebuild with a measured partnership.
Radha has shown her attacking intent, clearing the boundary twice and even hitting a six, providing some relief after the early wickets. With the top order back in the hut, RCB will rely on these two to steady the innings and build partnerships if they are to post a competitive total.
5 Over Update: RCB 39/3 Smriti Mandhana’s out
Royal Challengers Bengaluru have had a rocky start against Gujarat Giants. Grace Harris set the tone with a blistering 23-run opening over, including multiple boundaries, but the momentum swung quickly. Early breakthroughs for Gujarat’s bowlers saw Harris dismissed LBW to Kashvee Gautam, followed by Mandhana’s outside-edge catch by Rajeshwari Gayakwad.
Radha Yadav and Dayalan Hemalatha have come in to stabilise the innings, but RCB are reeling at 39/3 after five overs. Renuka Singh Thakur has been excellent with the new ball, while Kashvee Gautam and Ashleigh Gardner have also struck early, keeping the Giants in control.

RCB Women vs GG Women, WPL 2026: Toss update
Gujarat Giants have won the toss and opted to bowl.
Smriti Mandhana during the toss:
“Tosses are never in your control. I think it’s good to experience different situations early in the tournament. If you keep bowling first initially and then later have to bat first, it helps. I’m happy with it. The wicket has been pretty even in terms of batting first or fielding. If we play good cricket, the toss won’t matter as much. It’s more about continuing the same things. Doing the basics right. The work ethic in this team has been really good,” she said.
Ashleigh Gardner during the toss:
“We’re going to have a bowl tonight. I think nothing really changes for us in terms of process. Over the last couple of games, it’s shown that it’s a used wicket. With a harder ball, the spinners do get a little bit out of it as well. For our bowling group, it’s about taking early wickets and then trying to restrict them to a chaseable total. It’s quite hard to defend at this ground, so ultimately we want to keep them to as little as possible and then let our batting do the talking at the end,” she said.
RCB enter the match riding high on the back of two consecutive victories. The unbeaten start has given the Bengaluru side valuable momentum and confidence. Captain Smriti Mandhana has led from the front with composed batting, while Grace Harris has added firepower and flexibility through the middle order. With momentum firmly on their side, RCB will be keen to make it three wins in a row and strengthen their position at the top of the table.
Gujarat Giants, meanwhile, have won two of their three matches and remain firmly in the hunt. They will be eager to bounce back after a disappointing loss to Mumbai Indians in their previous outing. Much will depend on skipper Ashleigh Gardner, who has been pivotal with both bat and ball. Opener Beth Mooney’s role at the top will also be crucial, especially against an RCB bowling attack that has been disciplined and effective.
The bowling battle could play a decisive role. RCB’s pace duo of Renuka Thakur and Lauren Bell have consistently applied pressure in the powerplay, while Gujarat will rely on the all-round abilities of Gardner and the experience of Rajeshwari Gayakwad to contain a confident RCB batting lineup.
Head-to-head numbers underline how evenly matched the two sides are. Both teams have won three matches each in their six previous WPL meetings, adding another layer of intrigue to an already well-balanced contest.
With one team looking to consolidate early dominance and the other aiming to regain momentum, Match 9 of WPL 2026 is set up for an intense and competitive evening of cricket.
